“Be the change you want to see.”
– Mahatma Gandhi
I have spent the last fifteen years supporting organisations to get the best out of their people and their partnerships and have repeatedly seen the dramatic improvements, both to customer service and to the bottom line, that an inclusive approach to learning and organisational development can bring.
I started my career in social care and moved on to become a training manager within this sector, developing ground-breaking collaboration between police and social services departments leading for officers involved in the investigation of child abuse and developing and implementing a learning strategy to support the implementation of major policy and legislative change.
Later, I become the Organisational Development Manager for a major public sector organisation and latterly, the Organisational Development Director for the Welsh Assembly Government, providing services across the public and third sectors. I have now established Corporate Instinct Ltd. a learning and organisational development consultancy, and am delighted to have associated with my friends and colleagues at Transformation Partners.
Maintaining my belief in the close interrelationship between the fulfilment of individuals and the success of the organisations they work for, I am a qualified executive coach as well as having developed an expertise in the use of action learning as a tool for organisational growth. I have become adept at combining these and other development strategies and techniques to provide a bespoke and holistic approach to the development of organisations through the development and engagement of their people.
A favourite quote? Well, the one at the top of my biography is pretty significant to me, – a reminder that leading people through change is far more effective than driving them! Further to that, how about Walt Disney’s “If you can dream it, you can do it.” Perhaps not strictly true, but a great reminder not to create artificial limits to our potential!
